Christopher Lee's music

from Wikipedia:

Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross is a symphonic metal concept album released in 2010 by actor Christopher Lee.

It tells the story of the First Holy Emperor of Rome, King Charlemagne. Lee himself is a descendant of Charlemagne through his Italian ancestors.[1][2]

The album features The Tolkien Ensemble from Denmark, a 100 piece orchestra and a number of guest vocalists playing the different roles in the story. It was produced by Italian musician, composer and producer Marco Sabiu.[1]

In the past, Christopher Lee also worked with two other metal bands: Rhapsody of Fire and Manowar.

I want to decide on a Tattoo

So yeah, I finally wish to get a tattoo or two.

I want subtle, nice designs that will still look okay when they fade over time, especially when I'm old and wrinkled.

So I'll be posting images of tattoos that I like and invite reader feedback.

Here's a nice one: a locket. I don't think I'd want it heart shaped or with flowers, but anyway, you get the idea.

Santa Claus = recruitment tool for atheists

From SA Forums poster Don Quixote:

"Santa Claus is ... a pretty good recruiting tool for Atheism when you think about it. Santa Claus presents us with the figure of a wise and all seeing being who judges the righteous and the wicked and brings reward or punishment as he sees fit, and he can be placated with offerings of milk and cookies. He's nothing more or nothing less than a god. Then we tell kids that he's not real after they spend some time believing in him. Why do Christians want to keep him around again?"

Funny...

...somewhere...

Sofia Coppola's new film.

Here's a site she made about it, including behind the scenes interviews (filmed by her mom), photo diary and trailers.

I'm super excited. I LOVE all her movies so far...

Sketches + rudimentary panels

I was listening to a particularly melancholic symphony by Gorecki this morning and while I began to mourn the beginning of winter I suddenly was inspired to draw.

Retro Crush

The talented and impossibly beautiful Grace Kelly.

Wowie zowie. You may remember her from Dial M for Murder and Rear Window. Excellent films.

Another quick sketch

This was done without any structural fore-thought. Just random scribbling without any planning. Hence, the proportions and anatomy are pretty terrible because I didn't want to get too bogged down in that. I just wanted to let my creativity wander without rules for a bit.

At the very least now I've got the basis for an interesting character. Now to find a good pose to use as reference.
